Performance Solar Control Glass Coatings

High Performance Solar Control Glass Coatings

Our high-performance and selective low-emissivity glass products, processed under the license of one of the world’s leading coating companies, are assessed and listed with an internationally recognised pre-assessment database. These coatings are meticulously developed using magnetron sputtering—a vacuum electromagnetic technique commonly employed in the glass industry for spectrally selective coated products.

Accredited through a stringent technology transfer and monitoring agreement, our coatings—processed under a 'Glaverbel Stopray and Solarbel license'—ensure identical and original Stopray & Solarbel coatings. Our range includes float substrates for Cool Ray, Cool Pane, and e-Cool, available in clear, grey, green, blue, and bronze shades, both lighter and darker, tailored to meet diverse aesthetic and performance requirements.

''As an independent coating company, Alcon Architectural Glass division is not limited to standard substrates and is in a position to consider other substrates for coating deposition.''

High Performance, Low Emissivity Glass

CoolRay and e-Cool

CoolRay and e-Cool represent high light transmittance and high-performance soft-coated glass types with double or single silver, low emissivity coatings. Designed for residential and high-rise applications, CoolRay coatings deliver exceptional daylight levels, enhancing productivity, comfort, and well-being for occupants.

Depending on the coating type and the substrate, the external colour varies:

  • Neutral tones (CoolRay Elite, Crystal, and Astron)
  • Greenish hues (CoolRay Safir and Galaxy)
  • Bluish shades (CoolRay Carat)

When applied to tinted glass, these coatings amplify natural colour, creating visually stunning and performance-driven solutions.

Key Benefits of CoolRay and e-Cool Coatings:

  • Maximum light transmission for enhanced natural lighting and ambient comfort.
  • Low indoor reflectivity, enabling clear evening or night views, ideal for residential applications.
  • Significant reduction in solar radiation, resulting in low solar factors and shading coefficients.
  • Low Ug-values with potential enhancement through additional gas filling.

Additionally, CoolRay Gold, Amber, and Topaz coatings provide a luxurious palette of distinctive colours, enriching the aesthetic possibilities for architectural designs.

CoolPane

CoolPane is a traditional low light transmittance solar control glass, featuring coatings of various metal oxides. Its durable "hard" coating allows for single-glazed installations with the coating facing the interior of the building.

Primary Features:

  • Reflects and absorbs solar radiation, reducing light transmittance effectively.
  • Eliminates glare from intense sunlight, offering a screen against direct glare.
  • Provides privacy by preventing visibility from the outside under daylight conditions.
  • Increases usable floor space, making it a preferred choice for commercial buildings.
  • Ensures visual harmony between vision and spandrels for façades requiring uniformity.

CoolPane's adaptability makes it an excellent glass solution for diverse climates and architectural needs, delivering both functional and aesthetic benefits.
